Dr. Janhavi Shankar Tripathi is an Economist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance and Economics at St. Bonaventure University School of Business. His research focuses on financial economics, international economics, applied econometrics, and economic development. His work has been published in leading journals such as Finance Research Letters, Journal of Policy Modeling, Journal of Risk and Financial Management, and FinTech.

At St. Bonaventure, Dr. Tripathi teaches courses in international economics and business, financial institutions and markets, money and banking, macroeconomic principles, and business statistics.

During his doctoral studies, he held research positions at the International Monetary Fund, where he worked on financial supervision and regulation in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department (Summer 2022), and at the Centre for Alternative Finance, Cambridge Judge Business School, where he contributed to research on cryptoassets and blockchain (Summer 2020).

Dr. Tripathi also has experience in economic and business consulting. Prior to his PhD, he worked in the Business Performance & Advanced Analytics team at ZS, providing strategic analytics and insights to a major US pharma client.

He holds a PhD in Economics from Fordham University, an MSc in Economics from the Symbiosis School of Economics, and a BSc in Physics (major), Mathematics, and Statistics from Fergusson College, University of Pune.
